We are a no solicit organization.  It’s our policy not to approach donors or donor families. The potential donor or their family must initiate the first contact and express interest in whole body donation. You must reside within 250 miles of Elizabethton TN in order to qualify for our program. We hope to expand our service in 2020.

What makes Restore Life the right choice for body donation?

1. Restore Life is the only body donation organization that personally delivers the urn and ashes to the donor's family and provides this service free to all families.

2. Restore Life works with researchers to find cures for all forms of cancer and countless other medical conditions.

What We Do

Restore Life USA is a non profit organization (501c3) that provides human tissues for medical research and education purposes. We specialize in all types of research from bio mechanical to cell preservation.

We also work with researchers to find cures and better treatments for cancer, ALS, Alzheimer's and to study and better understand psychiatric disorders.  

Over the last year we have expanded our research to include, diabetes, vascular disease, heart disease, thyroid disorders, kidney disease, and gastrointestinal disorders.

As a non profit we generate funding by providing services to researchers and educators across the country. We do not sell our service or donated speciemns. The researchers and educators cover our cost associated with the transportation, cremation, surgical recovery, tissue preservation, staffing, insurance, and all the cost related to a 24 hour 7 day a week operation. 

Restore Life USA also works with Project My Heart Your Heart.

This program through the University of Michigan has the ultimate goal of recycling used pacemakers.

We continue to support other local charities such as the Tweetsie Trail Conservancy, local lake clean up projects, and area schools through Donors Choose. We also raised money for a local hospice group during a comedy event held in honor of the mother of a local comedian. 

Thanks to the overwhelming support of our partner researchers and educators, we at Restore Life USA are privileged to again to be a sponsor of Camp Caterpillar.  Camp Caterpillar is a free, one-day camp designed to meet the needs of children and teenagers who have experienced the death of a loved one or similar loss.

We would like to thank the staff of the

John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics . University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Due to their on going research were able to help a local woman who suffered from HSP (Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia) We hope her donation will help researchers learn how to prevent others from suffering from this inherited neurological disorder.

Body Donation Program

This program will allow those who wish to donate their body for medical education and research an alternative to do so locally here in East Tennessee,Southwest VA. and Western North Carolina.

There is no charge to the donor or the donor family and the donor family will receive cremated remains within 30 days. We will also provide the donor family with a certified copy of the death certificate at no charge.

A member of our staff will personally deliver the ashes and urn to the donor family in most cases. 

When someone donates their body for medical education they help countless others. Many advancements in medical treatment and techniques are made only with the help of those who donate their body for this purpose.

We have built stong friendships with our donor families through our body donation program and with their gift of body donation we have been able to help many researchers and educators learn new and advanced techniques.

     The Rufus Brown Fund

The wife of Rufus Brown made a generous donation to Restore Life USA.

With this donation we have established the "Rufus Brown Fund" to honor this extraordinary man along with his wife and family.

This fund will be used to assist our pre-registered donors who pass away outside of our normal service area. Thanks to this donation we will be able to cover the additional transporation cost associated with donors that have to be transported over a long distance.

Mr. Brown was awarded the Bronze Star from his actions in Vietnam. Please click on our Donors and Donor Familes Page for more information on Mr Brown.
